At this point, my husband is my only follower on my blog so this post should be interesting. I have not blogged in ages. Why? I was pregnant. I was birthing a baby. I am raising a baby? My life has been chaotic? All of the above. Any of it my choice? Yes, about ten percent of this past year has been my choice. The baby was that ten percent. Now? My life is 100% baby and that is my choice and wonderful.
In the future, when I write about being a mother I focus on all the things I do right. However, today has been a tough day on me. Not because I can't find a million things I did right today, because I can. But, because it takes just one fall to remind you that life is fragile.
Today, I watched my 9 1/2 month old son climb down a concrete step and hit his head. I was there to catch him and I missed. What kind of a mother misses. I'm certain that if he could remember this time in his life, he would hold this as a failure in the "mother" category.
Life has changed incredibly these last 12 months. I won't get into all the detail here. Just know that if you suffer from depression or what seems to be uncontrollable weight gain, you are not alone. I am with you. I am your shadow. I will beat this... this evil that seems to want to control my life. Life is good. Life gets better. What do I do right? A million things everyday...

Dear President Elect Barak Obama,
Great orators of history include Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler. Sir, your words have moved a nation.
Please, remember that your Audacity to Hope settled you into the category of leader. The audacity to lead and fulfill your campaign promises will be difficult. A wise man recently said to me "If Barak Obama can fulfill 10% of what he says he will, it will be an accomplishment."
All the critics will try to tear you down. The people who supported you will try to break you. Keep your chin up and keep plowing through and you and your family will come out ahead. Good luck sir. Good luck.

Now that the elections are over, news and media should turn back to the hottest topic in all of news...the change from analog to digital. Take a moment to view the attached link and ask yourself if you see a loved one confused by the switch and how much time you will spend between now and the first of the year explaining the process to your loved ones...time is money. I'm afraid I can't offer any solutions to you. Honestly, the process will continue and the questions will be asked no matter how diligently you work with the technology handicapped to explain the process. Happy holidays. Buy the cheaper of the two boxes for your parents/grandparents and have a happy New Year. On January 1, your efforts will be rewarded.

Calling all members labeled Generation X! Yes, we are out there and we are listening and yes, we will eventually take over the world. Don't be scared baby boomers. You are our parents, you should be proud.
Generally, a GenXer is mislabeled, however in the world of employment the stereotypes tend to hold mud.
Generation X is typically defined as someone born between 1965 to 1980, however there is debate as to when the dates officially begin and end. Since generations possess the same properties as water, everyone can be right.
I am in the midst of finding my vocation, which is difficult. I once asked a baby boomer what I'd be good at based on prior knowledge of my work ethic and ambitions. I was told that I would be a good manager of a gift shop. I hold this against him everyday but also use the notion as fuel. For all those out there managing gift shops, I hope this is your calling. I however, am searching for something a little different.
Like my generation, I am ambitious and searching for work and life balance, even in this economy. Yes, my current job is good. It is great. But can it be better? Can I contribute? Can I change? Can I do something with the time I have here on this rock? Being a wife, sister, daughter and eventually a mother is worthy...but what else. For all of you Xers and cusp Yers out there...take a challenge and go for the gold. Live your dreams and seek your calling for the greater good.

Today at the polls I recorded an interview for Harpo Radio. My research indicates that the station is only accessible from Sirius Satellite Radio and so, I'm unable to listen to my blundering interview. I can tell you that Harpo radio is out there looking for quick soundbites on how excited people are to vote.
Essentially, the interview expressed that I am extremely excited, if I could vote by ink and display an inky thumb as Iraqis do on election day then I would. Also, she asked why I voted today and not earlier. I expressed that today is the day set aside by our founding fathers to vote and I wish to honor that tradition. For, all of those who early voted...THANKS! Voting is essential to maintaining a democracy. Exercise your right today.
